Biography & statement   

         Chan Hung Hei was born in Hong Kong .He graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong ( Fine Art Department)in1978 and Centre Formation Technologie de Paris in1982. From 1978-1980 he tutored in the University of Hong Kong( School of Architecture )He participated in the Contemporary Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition and had a Solo Exhibition in the Trigram Gallery.He is also member of the Water.Ink.Stone. Art Society.

         The ink medium harmonises well with the chinese philosophy of unity and flexibility,making it suitable to depict the spirit of nature.Sometimes one wonders why the medium is so difficult to control;the incredible tone in the ink, the fluidity of water, the great diffusive quality of rice paper and the softness of the brush.They all add up to an uncontrollable universe.In fact,only when one works well with all this can one feel the way of nature
